NOVEMBER 1, 2005 Dear Mrs. Cordova, I just wanted to say hello. My name is SPC Amanda Horton. The 140th AVN forwarded your packages to us and I want to thank you for the great candy and other gifts. For some of us this is our first deployment. We are mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters, aunts and uncles. I personally am a mother of a Lil girl named Georgia who is presently with her grandparents. I really want to thank you again for the wonderful packages that you sent. It makes our job that much easier to know that the American people are behind us soldiers. Once again thank you very much and God Bless, SPC Amanda Horton
Saturday, November 5, 2005 Mary Ann Thank you so much for all you are doing for those of use who are away from home. I wanted to let you know that we are doing very well, bearing in mind we are at war. The base we are stationed at is equipped quite well, and we are considerably safe. We have a very nice chow hall that has just been built and opened a few weeks ago. The people there are working extremely hard to give us good meals like we would receive if we were home. We are very lucky, this country has come a long way since the war has began, and has a long way to go...but at least the progress IS noticeable. My Marines and I all thank you for the packages you were able to send to us. Please pass on our thanks to the many businesses, organizations and individuals that are helping you Sincerely, LCpl Ashliegh Annis
November 5, 2005 Mrs. Cordova, Thank you very much for the package. Mail from home really means a lot. It makes me happy to know that there are people out there like you who support the military. LCpl. Joshua M. Lawson
November 6, 2005 Mary Ann, Thank you so much for your package. My Marines really appreciated your kind gesture. It means a so much to all of us out here to know we are supported by Americans back home. I grew up in California, so I especially felt like I was getting a little place at home all the way out here. Sometimes the weather here reminds me of home. There is no humidity and when the sun goes down the temperature drops about 20 degrees. Thanks again, 2nd Lt. Candice Sarlese

November 9, 2005 Dear Mrs. Cordova I would like to thank you and your supporters for the box that you sent me. I know that many other Marines have received boxes as well. Its really nice to know that people back in the states are supporting us. Many of the Marines in my company don't have much of a family, so any kind of mail really makes their day. Well I have to get back to work now. I know this letter isn't much, but I thank you from the bottom of my heart. LCpl Deppa

November 12, 2005 Dear Mary Ann Your packages arrived today. I had a list of soldiers who had not received any packages, we put their names on the mail list and had them at get their surprise package. It made their day! It is amazing to see their smile when they check the list and see their name and even more so when they see and open the package. Thank you so much for caring enough to do what you do. The young soldiers here work hard and sometimes feel like not many notice. I found a home for all your packages. They are very nice, Thank you for the package you sent me. I shared with my assistant. Know that you are in our prayers. God Blessings on you and your family. Chaplain Brian Kane, Iraq
Date: November 175h, 2005 2:21PM From SSG Roger Ramos, 67th Support Group Mary Ann First I would like to THANK YOU ! ! ! for sending a package to me. I think I was having the worst day of my deployment, when I walked in and saw a package on my desk. I looked at the address and saw it as addressed to my Chaplain. Frustrated I walked to the Chaplains office and mentioned they delivered his package to me. He smiled and said it was mine. I turned the package over and saw my name and my heart just dropped and my eyes welled up a bit. Father Kane informed me who you were and what you do for soldiers and told me to go open my package. I thanked him and went back to my desk and was just amazed at what I got. My emotions on high, I pulled out the Thank You card written by a young girl from Wilson Elementary School and just thought "wow". I have started to write to here a letter and trying to find something to send her that reflects Iraq and where I am stationed at. Just some info about myself. I live in Lincoln Nebraska and I belong to the 67th Area Support Gout. I was born and raised in Nebraska, but my family moved to south Texas shortly after I graduated high school. I have been in the Nebraska Army National Guard for almost 17 years and enjoyed the many experiences it has brought me. This is not my first deployment, I have been to Kosovo and then Bosnia-Herzegovina. Again, thank you for the package it came at just the right time. You your family and helpers have an excellent Thanksgiving and Christmas season. My the love of those you help keep your spirit burning bright and strong. No Worries! SSGT Roger Ramos
